1. In Impressions, I use an orange cylinder to make classic High Renaissance circular shapes on the leather surface. However, my actions are done in futility. Each time I press this cylinder into the leather, it's imprint quickly fades and is soon part of the past. An impression of a circle is made, but the impression soon becomes etiolated. I continuously create small traces of circular perfection. Yet, the perfection is not true. It is just a mold of perfection. As a viewer watches Impressions they will notice that eventually each time I attempt to create this image of perfection, creases and cracks form in the leather. Thus, creating more and more imperfections. Also, images start being formed. Organic and abstract shapes continuously appear and then change their configuration, canceling each other out. Eventually, I create my impression on the leather with my hand, only for it's existence to fade away into time itself.

  2. This is an experimental video for the Weekend Project group. It's called a Stredit or "straight edit." Where I use every picture I took during a particular photo shoot. These photos were taken in Claysville, Alabama.
This wistful video refers to a near-forgotten time. A viewer may wonder what the connection is between the two decaying old ships, the vast field with rolling bells of hay, the singular disintegrate rust colored barn, and the photographer (myself). One could even find their own connection to these nostalgic elements. Besides nostalgia, a conjecture of isolation lingers throughout the video.
Hope you enjoy this personal experimental "Stredit" video.

  3. Using slow shutter speeds, I am able to create an illusion of a girl in her youth who is near disappearing into the atmosphere, only for her to manifest into existence yet again. This effect takes place while she leaps into the air while playing with at first an umbrella and second a scarf. Both objects are symbolic of protection from the elements (i.e. wind and rain). The slow shutter speeds capture the girl’s movements and documents her motions in time. Her youthful high-spirited state is thus captured on film.

  4. Goats have for centuries been a huge part of legend, lore, and myth. Their mere presence has symbolic meaning. To some, goats evoke a sense of mystery or spiritual ambition.
The Capra Aegagrus Hircus is one of the oldest domesticated species. Humans have used this breed throughout the history of time for their milk, meat, hair, and skin. Therefore, this is my ode to the goat and all of its mystery.

  5. In "Patience" I playfully poke fun at this virtue, patience, that seems all to hard to achieve. During this short film I wait and wait for somebody to come to my assistance. Time is of the essence. And it is quickly and patiently ticking by. The patience of myself is tested as well as the viewer. Will I be able to endure the wait? Will the viewer be capable of patience while the seconds of this video tick by? Endurance. Patience. Time. These three ideas are what is being challenged. Will the clerk ever attend to my needs? Or will we endlessly wait?

As an art major I am highly interested in and continually influenced by concepts from throughout art history. I'd like to think that my video art reflects these concepts. I am also interested in the futility of human nature and life itself. For me this channel will broadcast my experimentation with video art in contemporary forms.
