In 2003 I went to Zimbabwe with a friend. The people we met were kind and proud but also desperate and hungry. Kids were eating grass, Aids was ravaging the country and Mugabe was having a helluva time trying to keep gas at the pumps and cheap beer in the stores. The rich however remained very rich. Nearing the close of our trip I was taken in, my cameras confiscated my filim exposed as I was caught filming someone with food-aid on their head. Even though Zim is a desperate country it is also a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and for that Steve Rose and I made this short film. Thanks to Brian Nichols and Larry Gillman for reminding me we made this.
