To test their belief that Yoga and meditation are for everyone, two Yogis bring 11 Brooklyn public high school students to a Hindu ashram in India. How will these young adults respond to experiences and a culture different from any they have known?
Chandanni Miglino and Christopher Miglino have been traveling and practicing yoga, meditation and mindfulness for over fifteen years. They have four children who have also been fostered around these practices and principles.
They always wondered what life would have been like if they had been introduced to yoga, meditation, mindfulness and travels to India at an earlier age. Especially in our formidable years of high school, we are moving from being children to young adults. It is during these invaluable years that our state of mind and emotional well being is shaped. Exposing kids to diverse cultures, tools and practices of well being can give them insight to themselves and the world.
In February they were able to realize this dream by travelling with 11 students from a public high school in the US to India to participate in the yearly yoga and meditation festival. The students said that it was an enlightening and transformative experience. Something that they could travel with for the rest of their lives.
HMisFit and Matt are dark individuals; Misfit’s a lounge singer who meets men, goes back to their place and robs them later. Matt is a troll, who takes working girls home, abuses them and tosses her out. This is what happens when they meet.
The date was January 13th, 2014 at the gorgeous Riviera Maya, when Touch of Class returned to the magical shores of Tulum after having such a successful and productive year in 2013. To celebrate, they invited their roster of artists, including a fusion of live musical performances and special guests for 24-hours of fun in the sun, dancing and swimming in the brilliant turquoise waters of the Caribbean. The sonic journey was led by deep, sultry and tribal sounds of Tone Of Arc, label founders Signal Flow, Francesca Lombardo, Pattern Drama, Silky, Navid Izadi, Aquarius Heaven, South Of Chihuahua and friends.
The picturesque beachfront and white sand beaches of Tulum was more than a suitable venue to host the TOCR Showcase. If you weren’t dancing with your feet in the sand, you were swinging in a colorful hammock between tropical trees, chasing the waves or grubbing on some authentic Mexican cuisine. The 24-hour marathon was a reunion of the TOCR family from all corners of the globe coming together under the Mexican sun and the infectious full moon. This was the perfect setting for the label’s artists to bring forth what they’ve been cooking in the studio. From beginning to end, the music mimicked the energy of the sun and the dance floor was grooving with familiar faces, familiar tunes and several new releases from the label’s talented roster. Joined by label friends such as Low Tide, Sergio Santos, Nav Box, daVi A, Depart, Christian Mora and Guada, Bedouin and Gabo, the insatiable vibe created carried everyone through this magical event in the TOCR style.
We want to give a special thanks to everyone who made this event possible, Curandero, Bar Adelita, Housepitality, Stunner Of The Month, Push Visual, Pulse Radio, Beatguide, mybeatfix and all the guests, artists and friends that support the label and it's vision.
Expect to see more from the imprint this year with upcoming releases by: Navid Izadi, Tone Of Arc, DisCern, Signal Flow, Pattern Drama and South Of Chihuahua. Stay up to date at: http://www.touchofclassrecords.com for info on upcoming releases, events, podcasts, videos and free downloads.
