Sara Beaman is a professional belly dancer and belly dance instructor for the Triangle area. She has danced for more than 10 years. Belly dance has not only proven to be more than an art form, but also a way for her to connect with her body and spirit, as well as conquer her struggles against fibromyalgia.
“Lunch Ladies” is a short video essay/multi-person profile on the community of employees that work in the “Agora” cafeteria in Granville Towers at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. First, we meet Peggy Cozart who has worked in the Agora for over forty years. She shares her love for the students and the diverse community in which she has dedicated some much of her time and effort. It is her desire that the students at Chapel Hill understand that if they ever need someone to talk to, she can “be their mom away from home.”
Sibel Hizargolu's husband, Mustafa, has been a chef for more than 30 years. In 2005, Mr. Hizargolu's dreams came true when he and his bride became the new owners of Nil's Bakery and Cafe. While running a business by themselves requires a lot of hard work, Mrs. Hizargolu says their love for customers makes it worthwhile. Nil's Bakery and Cafe is located on 513 Broad Street in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina.
