Not long before the due date for projects into the Student Media Festival, my instructor came to me with a tape in his hand and said "Cal, I want you to make a winner out of this." He gave me the tape and I discovered it contained footage from a shot that the Cinema Productions I class has don't in December, several months earlier. I did what I demanded of me, and, indeed, turned it into a winner.
With high scores at the Richmond County Student Media Festival and the Georgia Student Media Festival, it is set to win at the International Student Media Festival come the start of the next school year.
As our Student Media Festival entry for this school year, my friend Jacob Wall and I set out to replace our instructor's 2-Year-Old open for our school's daily, live news broadcast "WDFA" with something that embodied the cast a bit more, and, as we described it, "felt more personal." Inspired by Saturday Night Live, we did just that.
Please not that the video is not HD nor 16:9 due to the fact that our school runs on old Standard Definition equipment. It was exported in a 16:9 document so that it would not be stretched as bad as otherwise.
Annual commercial for the Davidson Fine Arts book fair.
This year's book fair is in October, earlier than usual, so to keep with the Halloween spirit, the commercial theme is Night of the Living Books... and pencils... and pens... and posters.... and... other gadgets....
