1. This is a fun little video slideshow I created dedicated to the lovely Ladies of RAFN--the Richard Armitage Friends Network. Ladies who elected to participate shared with me an image to represent themselves--this could be a photograph, graphic illustration, or flower. I filled in the slides with additional flowers and portraits of the handsome and talented British Actor Richard Crispin Armitage.

I chose to also include portraits of Mr. Armitage from the past several years because we're all so familiar with his amazing storytelling as an actor and filmmaker, that it is also nice sometimes just to appreciate the man himself. Similarly, the song "Just the Way You Are" has a reciprocal connotation in terms of praising the ladies of RAFN--as well as, our reason for coming together as a community of fans of Richard Armitage. The bonds of friendship we ladies have formed with one another transcend our and transform our admiration for Mr. Armitage. Though, he is never far from our thoughts and we wish him well and look forward to enjoying his character portrayals in his future artistic projects--such as his lead role as Thorin Oakenshield in "The Hobbit" films coming up in 2012 and 2013.

Should more ladies wish to be included in a video activity of this type in the future--and if they're not out of town because this is a holiday weekend--I might update this video in the future.

In the meantime, enjoy! Cheers! Grati rev 3/31/12

  2. Dearest Katie,

You have been one of the joys of my life since you were born. You wrapped your little fingers around my heart when as a toddler you referred to me as "My Grace" rather than "Aunt Grace".

I'm so proud of the wonderful caring, loving, sweet, kind, focused, and lovely young woman you've become.
I wish you every happiness that you wish for yourself--and more.

    Love, Aunt Grace

  3. Thorin’s Quest: “The Impossible Dream?”, gz 5/10/12 Gratiana Lovelace (Post # 181)

Life is a journey of pathways and destinations. And even if we don’t believe in destiny--but rather that we make our own destinies--fate sometimes pulls us back into its inexorable spiral toward an inevitable conclusion. What we hope for might be impossible. But that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t dream.

So for your consideration, a video for a Thorin Thursday--featuring Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield, in The Hobbit.

  4. Richard Armitage's character of Harry Kennedy in "The Vicar of Dibley: A Holy Wholly Happy Ending" (BBC 2006) is completely endearing and charming. Sighhhhh! This video pertains to episode 1. So, I thought that I would put together a little video of my favorite screen caps from RANet (http://www.RichardArmitageNet.com) in a video. The song "I can love you better" is sung by the Dixie Chicks on their "Wide Open Spaces" CD, 1997 Sony Music Entertainment, Inc. No Copyright infringement intended. Enjoy!

  5. The Richard Armitage Friends Network (RAFN)--an unofficial group of ladies from around the world who share with each other their admiration for Richard Armitage via literary analysis, writing, vidding, and other creative outlets--celebrates our one year anniversary June 24-25, 2012.

The ladies of RAFN are all wonderful, beautiful, unique, and special individuals. The breadth of amazing talent that they possess for art, writing, blogging, vidding, careers, volunteering, caring, sharing, family, and friendship, etc., is dizzying and accomplished. So Sunday June 24th and spilling over into Monday June 25th, with our celebrating RAFN’s first anniversary, is really a celebration of Richard Armitage AND about all of the ladies of RAFN from around the world! Go Global Team Armitage!

And we have to thank--if only virtually--the man who has made our friendships and creativity possible: Richard Crispin Armitage. He has given us the shared experiences of his storytelling as a common thread among our diverse lives and backgrounds. He has inspired in many of us the will to explore our own creativity. And through his sometimes shy, often very private, and always humble gentlemanly ways he has reminded us and everyone that there are people of honor and integrity in the public sphere worthy of our admiration.

P.S. This video was a collaborative effort by the ladies of RAFN who supplied the images either from their own files or via RANet (http://www.RichardArmitageNet.com) or RAC (http://www.RichardArmitageCentral.co.uk) and other sources as noted in the video's credits. The song is "Can't Fight this Feeling" performed by Glee (love them!). The video is for personal use and enjoyment only. No copyright infringement intended.
