El Cielo de Canarias "The Light of Stars" (con making of)

El Cielo de Canarias "The Light of Stars" (with making of)

    Daniel Lopez elcielodecanarias.com

Uniting timelapse and astronomical photography, we can captures the true beauty of the landscape and the night sky in one video, playing in a real but accelerated movement of the heavens. What happens in hours or days we can see it in seconds. What the eye cannot see because of darkness, we can capture and display as a video with colors and nuances impossible to catch during the day.

All videos are real, landscapes, stars, constellations, Milky Way etc. have been recorded using imaging techniques and astronomical special systems (cranes and rails) to achieve the effect of motion of the landscape and sky in the same sequence.
All scenes are recorded at night, the only light that illuminates the landscape is that of the moon and sometimes a few small foci.

My sincere gratitude to the Parque Nacional del Teide (Tenerife) for permission to filming in restricted areas, and the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias in their observatories and telescopes.
The music used is the unique theme "La Búsqueda de Ianna" Epic Soul Factory. jamendo.com/es/track/732520

The scenes was recorded in the Parque Nacional del Teide (Tenerife) and the Observatorio del Roque de los Muchachos (La Palma). Where they join one of the best skies in the world with a unique landscape.

  3. I am a destination visual artist who specializes in photography, timelapse cinematography, & filmmaking.  I love to travel, so if you have a project in some far flung location, lets talk.

Yosemite National Park, the High Sierra, and the Eastern Sierra are some of the most beautiful places on earth. Ever since I serendipitously won a trip to Yosemite when I was 18, the beautiful Range of Light has captured my heart and become my home. Nothing brings me more joy than to share this life changing beauty with others.

Ever since I became fascinated with timelapse photography almost 2 years ago, after seeing the work of Tom Lowe, I’ve wanted to do a piece on Yosemite and the Sierra. Now after almost 2 years of shooting, I'm thrilled to share. I hope you enjoy my vision of my home, the majestic Yosemite & Sierra. Best viewed Full Screen with Sound :)

If you would like to license any of my clips or hire me to shoot for you, please be in touch. I do have 4k footage available for licensing.

Huge thanks to Kessler Crane and Lens Pro To Go. Without their help this piece would not have been nearly as good.

Also a huge thanks to all of you who help support me with your warm comments and continuing encouragement. It means more to me than you know.

I hope this inspires everyone to get outside and explore the beautiful outdoors, especially magical places like Yosemite National Park and the High Sierra. It's National Parks week and all of our national parks are free this week, so get outside and explore!

  4. ** Please also check out EARTHEREAL II: vimeo.com/adonispulatus/earthereal2

The International Space Station Expedition 30 crew shot some truly awe-inspiring time-lapse sequences flying over practically every square mile of the globe.

I downloaded the high-resolution image sets that have been made available by the NASA Johnson Space Center and constructed this short time-lapse film in hi-res 2K project format. I was amazed at how clean the Nikon D3S images turned out (even at ISO 3200 and above) which kept the post-processing requirements to a minimum.

Images courtesy of the Image Science & Analysis Laboratory, NASA Johnson Space Center available from: eol.jsc.nasa.gov/ForFun/CrewEarthObservationsVideos/

    Cameras: Nikon D2X and D3S

    Lenses: 28-70mm f/2.8, 14-24mm f/2.8, 17-35mm f/2.8, 28mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.4

Technique: The majority of the images were shot at 1 second intervals, ISO 200-12800.

    Post Processing:
:: Downloaded more than 16K hi-res images from NASA for this project
:: Image sets adjusted in Adobe Lightroom 3.6
:: Image sets imported into an Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 2K 24p project
:: Used GBDeflicker for the image sets with shorter exposure times. Highly recommended: granitebaysoftware.com/Products/ProductGBD.aspx
    :: Exported as 2048x1024 24p MP4 @ 75Mbps

  5. I was inspired to make this clip after watching Timelapse: EARTHEREAL by Adonis Pulatus vimeo.com/40900577.

I downloaded thousands of high res images from Nasa eol.jsc.nasa.gov/Videos/CrewEarthObservationsVideos/
and edited the colors in Adobe Lightroom. Then used After effects to render the timelapse sequences. Mostly at 25 fps. Final Cut Pro X was used to assemble the timeline.
