Trebuchet

  1. At first i breaked the wall in pieces with the plugin "Rayfire" for 3dsMax. Then I used my simulation of firing the trebuchet and tried to hit the wall... After i managed that, the simulation of breaking the wall was physically correct but not that bombastic, i was used to see in films like "Kingdom Of Heaven". So added a bomb force, which detonated in the moment of impact.

These are animations of the famous medival siege weapon - the trebuchet. I used 3dsMax with Reactor to simulate the correct physical behaviour of the counterweight, firearm, the sling and the projectile. In addition to that I tested the plugins "Afterburn" for the smoke and fire of the projectile and "Rayfire" for the destruction of the wall. It was the first time i worked with this stuff after an basic course in physics simulation 2010.
