Interieur is proud to present Ventura Interieur. This is a new partnership with Organisation in Design (NL), the team behind the successful Ventura Lambrate design district in Milan, which is devoted to emerging talent, interesting design happenings and events during the annual Salone design fair. Interieur and Organisation in Design came together after the realisation that both organisations have similar ethos in terms of curating their spaces, they both focus on showing a carefully chosen selection of interesting and exciting work that promotes both commerce and culture.
Ventura Interieur at INTERIEUR 2012 will be an international platform that showcases a selection of young designers, new brands, academies and institutions. A total of 70 participants will be spread over the various locations of the Biennale. The Ventura Runway, a curated exhibition of new products is integrated into the scenography and can be discovered at the ground floor of the Buda Factory at Buda Island and the Kortrijk Xpo presentation at the Rambla near the north entrance.
During the Biennale INTERIEUR 2012, Kortrijk Xpo will be transformed into a DesignCity with 300 selected international brands along its streets and Future Primitives project rooms its piazza's. Along three long diagonal lanes we have created three major exhibitions that cut through the halls of the Xpo. Find out about the exhibitions Corso Blue, Flanders Avenue and Rue Déjà-Vu in this film.
INTERIEUR 2012 has 7 international guests who will create Future Primitives project rooms, installations that explore the essence of our future living environment.
In this film we focus on the 3 Future Primitives project rooms located on the Buda Island in the city centre of Kortrijk. These installations by Ross Lovegrove (UK), Troika (UK) and David Bowen (US) are linked by natural elements: air, light and water. On the surface, technology seems to play a big part, but in fact it is only a means to allow for an intuitive experience.
The Biennale INTERIEUR 2012 puts the physical, sensorial and social experience of design first. To make this happen we have created the spirit of a creative town centre at the Xpo fairground and the new city locations, with plenty of space for socialising, meeting and eating where visitors can enjoy food and design in an custom-designed setting. Find out all about the various meeting places, bars & restaurants in this video.
Instead of one guest of honour, the Biennale INTERIEUR 2012 has invited 7 artists, designers and architects to create a project room. These installations are linked by the theme Future Primitives and will offer different investigations of which essential elements will play a role in our future living environment.
