One of my latest. Its part of a longer mix that just takes too long to upload :) I've recorded this live. I just hit record and go. I think this one is pretty good. Compressed it doesn't sound quite as good as the original :(
This is more of a listening type of House, not a dancing type. I particularly like Acting Crazy.
Albin Myers -- Hells Bells
TyDi -- Acting Crazy (Tom Fall Remix)
Heatbeat -- Rocker Monster (Original Mix)
Qulinez -- Troll
Swedish House Mafia -- Antidote
Zedd - Autonomy (Original Mix)
Maiko - Wer Ist Sie (Porter Robinson Remix)
Their sound is brilliant. Their form is canned like spam :)
As I study this genre I've come to understand its just a formula.... song starts here, goes this many bars, then this happens. Using specific sounds that suite the genre. This proves how 2 songs from 2 artists sit right on top of each other. In fact it's almost as if they talked to each other about the arrangements and said stuff like "I'll put this here if you put that there so it'll mashup great!" LOL. The drums are the same, its in the same key, the beats are at 128 native and so forth. In one of my online classes they discuss exactly this. Its a formula. Anyone can do it if they know how. The art is of course in the sound. It is well known what works. These arrangements work. On their own each song is a bit thin. Together they have more punch.
Now with this said, I did not re-master these nor did I mix them. I just pulled them into Ableton, warped them and setup a loop at the end, then I just kill one and fall out of the loop. Much could be done with envelopes in Ableton along the way to de-accentuate one song in favor of the other with automation technique on the levels and make it flow better. Then because they are mashed they need to be re-mastered as well. The bass is too heavy, I could have side chained it and made it wobble or broke out my midi keyboard and a synth and come up with a little play-over and recorded it as I was running it.
I'm learning production and how to do re-mixes. This is fun. Work, and time, but fun.
