  3. My first impression of Dubai was that of super-tall buildings jutting out of the desert sand. However, after 3 months of exploration, research and filming, my lasting impression is of the eternal wonder of the desert and the importance it holds for the Emirati people.

Dubai may be home to the world’s most outrageous skyline but Dubai’s desert dunes and historical creek are where you’ll find its soul.

A special thank you to Dubai Film for making this project possible and for providing the extraordinary access which enabled me to realise this story.

  4. Maker Profile

Tell Cris Benton to go fly a kite. He’ll return with breathtaking photographs taken from seemingly impossible vantage points. As a young architect, Cris wanted sharp images of his buildings’ upper reaches, so he pioneered the art/science of of aerial kite photography. Now a professor of architecture at UC Berkeley, Cris is still a leader in the aerial kite photography community, constantly developing new ways to rig remotely controlled cameras to customized kites for stunning results. Also, see the centuries-old technique of using kites to lift people in the air! Watch the clip, and check out Cris’ website http://www.arch.ced.berkeley.edu/kap/index.html

  5. This great video was filmed by Film Master MEA in Dubai for our performance for the National Day celebration of the UAE. Our wonderful crew of 24 performed with 10 watercraft and 10 of our 5 stack diamond show kites equipped with super LED lighting, electroluminescent light cable in the tails and radio control fireworks. The show was a hit and our sincere thanks to the leadership of CJ Grace, our expert pilots, drivers, ground crew and technicians for making this possible.
