With blistering hot temperatures over the Canadian National MTB Championships race weekend and riders pinning it faster than ever, Sun Peaks was host to some of the world’s fastest riders including defending champion Steve Smith who once again took the fastest time of the day. With over 270 riders slaying the course all weekend, the resulting aftermath was a bit “rough”, to say the least. However after a couple days of hard work and a welcome overnight rain shower, silt piles, displaced rocks, and berms holes have been tamed and the course is once again riding nice. Nearly a month into the Bike Park season, it’s high time to show you the goods out there!
Out of commission for nearly three years after undergoing significant logging to control the effect of bark beetles in the area, Sweet One is a classic Sun Peaks trail that is now once again open to ride! Check out this video update on progress so far, see you on the trails!

DH racing has deep roots at Sun Peaks. With a long legacy of racing in the early days of the Bike Park, Sun Peaks has proven itself over the past few years with a 2012 BC Cup, a 2013 Canada Cup, and National Championships in 2014, 2015, and already lined up for 2016!
