Understanding that transforming schools to meet the needs of 21st century learners is a local—not state—challenge, nine schools in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex joined together to create the North Texas Regional Consortium to support each other as they individually move toward the ideals in Creating a New Vision for Public Education in Texas. Come hear superintendents—some of whom were involved in the original project—discuss the journey, planned objectives, and challenges ahead.

This year’s conference theme, Inspiring Visionary Leaders, emphasizes the urgency for superintendents and other school district leaders to be engaged in local and statewide efforts to transform Texas schools consistent with the principles and premises in Creating a New Vision for Public Education in Texas. Building upon the significant experiences offered at TASA's 2012 Midwinter and Spring Leadership Conferences, participants will learn about TASA's latest efforts to engage school, community, and business leaders throughout Texas in school transformation.
