1. This was a great job to be apart of. I turned it down 4 times, I pushed my schedule out over 4 months and the client still waited for me. It was a job I did not really want to do because I did not think it could be done properly in Jakarta. Also working for big global companies with many voices, and having two AD agencies at the same time on set... I really doubted that it was possible to do a good job. But mid way through pre production with PLUSH PICTURES in Jakarta, i quickly realized that the project was turning into something grand. I had a vision, but did not think Jakarta had the film experience to pull it off. I was gladly mistaken. All the crew and especially the art director WAIKI really bought there "A" game to the table. Everyone could see this turning into something big... everyone started to get behind it... The client and agency were letting me do my thing and did not get in the way at all. We ended up with a great TV Commercial that everyone is proud of. My thanks goes out to all involved. Great work guys... Jakarta's film industry just stepped up to international levels.
    I shoot around the world alot, and am spoiled with gear and choice... I was really impressed with the effort everyone put in. Great job Jakarta, great job. !

  3. LIN DAN, LI NING TV Commercial was a tough gig.. Super star athletes can be a pain, LIN DAN was know exception. He only gave us 3 hours to shoot this TV Commercial which ended up costing twice as much because of the time constraints he put upon us all. We ended having to build two complete studio sets exactly the same and setup up a total of 70 cameras to capture everything we needed in 3 hours. We rehearsed the whole shoot the day before with a stand in, trying to figure out how to compress a 16 hour shoot into 3 hours. It was a costly exercise, but we did it.
    If LIN DAN would only realize how much better this TV Commercial would have been and how much cooler he would have looked if he gave me time. He missed out... His and Ni Lings loss, not mine. But glad to say that the AD still came out ok... Thank goodness.

    Think of and idea that night, shoot in a 6 hour window, edit it, grade it, master it out to HD the next day.
    This TVC was a test to see if it could be done.... It can.
