1. The Sadies returned to the Brooklyn Bowl a couple a weeks ago and put on another magical show. The Canadian band famed for their dexterity of their music and the prowess on their instruments blazed through their set exciting the audience. The band which hails from Canada should be better known in the United States. There is no one like the Sadies who can go from pyschadelic garage rock to pure country rifts and then back in a nano second. Evidence of their craftmanship is found in the countless acts who have employed them to be their backup band including Neko Case and John just to name a few of the many.

The Sadies are practitioners of what has become to be called Roots Music and they are ideally suited for this. The guitar players, Travis and Dallas, hail from the Good family which was made up of their father and uncled and was legendary band from Canada who masters of the country idiom. Ironcialy, the Good brothers have stated in interviews they grew up not liking their parents music and gravitated toward punk. Only later did they come to embrace their country roots. This evolution, however, would culminate in the unique texture which the Sadies provide these days.
