Devica and Sunny met in Soho, outside the Louis Vitton store. Sunny had gone there to buy some dress shoes for a client of his, (Eugene Monroe-offensive tackle for the Baltimore Ravens), in preparation for the 2009 NFL Draft. When Sunny stepped out of the store, he saw Devica across the street doing a photoshoot. He noticed her right away and she seemed to notice him as well……Devica began smiling, so Sunny just waited across the street until she finished. When Devica finished the photo shoot, her maid of honor, Eve, walked over with Devica and gave Sunny her phone number………it's been 5 years and they haven't looked back since......
Sunny proposed to Devica on a vacation to Turks and Caicos in November of 2012. The morning they left, Sunny approached Devica's mother and father while she was taking a shower and asked for their blessings. Her mother began to cry and Sunny knew right then, he was doing the right thing. When they arrived to Turks, on the second of a 4 day trip, Sunny had a private candle light dinner setup on the beach. It was breath taking.....the water was a few feet from them. Midway thru dinner, Sunny went to the bathroom to get his nerves right and walked back out (all the waiters and waitresses and restaurant staff knew his plan).....got on one knee and proposed. Devica had no idea it was coming and was completely caught off guard........the box that the ring came in had a light built in, Sunny was prepared for the darkness…..Devica said "Yes".........
