As a 2013 Sydney Festival partner, Honda Australia wanted to contribute to the creative spirit of the event. We worked with Honda to create the HondaTrope, an unforgettable interactive installation in Sydney’s Hyde Park. The HondaTrope took the classic 'spinning cup' children’s ride and catapulted it into the 21st century. Twenty-four vertical light poles fitted with 4,320 LEDs created an amazing 'secret garden' visual effect.
This immersive 3D installation and online experience gave tennis fans the chance to return serves from their favourite players as they happened at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena. Powered by an 'Oculus Rift' and IBM data smarts, it celebrates IBM's Australian Open sponsorship.
