State of the State RI

Guest: Jim Ryczek, Executive Director, R.I. Colatition for the Homeless, rihomeless.org
Host: Rebecca Quigley Time: 30 minutes
The R.I. Coalition for the Homeless is a public policy and advocacy group whose goal is to eliminate homeless as we know it. Although coalition members have been able to lower the number of homeless people in R.I., there are approximately more than four thousand still without homes. Over one thousand people each night use shelters. Ryczek discusses the many factors which lead to homelessness and the different services coalition members offer to aid homeless Rhode Islanders. Zero 2016 is a national campaign giving urgency to this problem with a goal to end chronic homelessness by the end of 2016.
