State of the State RI

Guest: Lou Raptakis, RI State Senator
Host: Richard August Time: 30 minutes
There is a long list of elected officials, whose misbehavior has placed them in the RI Hall of Shame. Recently a member of the RI House of Representatives and a member of the Providence City Council have joined this notorious group who have betrayed the public trust and committed either questionable or unlawful acts. Raptakis openly discusses these unfortunate matters and the legislation needed to curb such misbehavior and get at fraud and corruption in Rhode Island. Many of the remedies discussed are not new; nor is the general assembly’s refusal to tackle these often recurring problems.
