This is an excerpt from GURUKULA IN THE WOODS, a film by Vasudeva Das, soon to be released by BhakTV.
***** Kung Fu is an ancient practice of self-defense that some say has its roots in Vedic India. In the modern era, it is in villages of China that fighting abbots can still be found training their monks to preserve this ancient discipline. Some years ago the martial art was added to this school’s curriculum, much to the boys’ mental and physical benefit… and much to their excitement. Today International Master Henry Su has flown into India to start a four-day hands-on seminar at the Bhaktivedanta Academy, on the grounds of Mayapur’s gurukula in West Bengal, to instill in the boys some of life’s cardinal virtues.
