"Si Si" was made for the Vancouver 24 Hour Film race 2012. It explores the often comical misunderstandings that occur when two people from different cultures sit down to have a conversation.
When an American tourist takes pause to listen to a street performer he is struck by the beauty of a young lady sitting at a nearby table .
She invites him to join her, or so he thinks and the two begin a conversation that is at times both exciting and puzzling.
Their inability to communicate on a verbal level ultimately gives way to a mutual understanding and allows for communication on a much deeper level.
"No Good Deed" is a short film that illustrates how sometimes even the best of intentions can be misguided.
The film was shot in Vancouver back in 2012 and is the first live action short I made.
The principle cast includes Andrew Dergousoff as the protagonist, Ryan Guthrie as the hobo and Glen Wogan as the barista. Adele Ayres produced and managed the shoots, Devon Towler was the sound recordist and grip, Sam Levin wrote and performed the original score and I wrote, directed, shot and edited the film.
