  1. SFAI Teaching Artists, Lisa Donahue and Erikka James, led a group of 7th graders in developing and performing a series of math chants to help them learn and remember multiplication and factoring.

  2. Santa Fe Art Institute teaching artists Lisa Donahue, Rachel Miller-Howard and Shayla Patton spent six weeks with Mr. Slakey’s 7th grade English class at DeVargas Middle School. The students were exposed to different types of poetry through reading and listening to spoken word presentations Students were encouraged to do their own writing through free writing sessions and various writing exercises. At the end of the six-week workshop each student was invited to participate in a performance of their poetry. A chapbook of the poems was created and distributed to the kids, and this video was made.
