1. 3rd out of 4
In this course, I tried lengthening my reins to encourage him to lengthen his neck. He didn't much, but that did not sacrifice any control. He stayed calm, a bit quicker, but not stronger in the bridle.

My focus was to keep the canter steady, take the time to get proper leads and to encourage the correct lead over the jump. Here, I kept the reins shorter but barely needed to use them at all!

  3. He was worked up, but confident. My goal was to keep him as quiet as possible so didn't push for much engagement, etc. I also wanted to let this class establish that he was green and I was a professional, so I tried to ride well, quietly and keep our distance form the other riders so we were not disruptive.
The judge took and interest in him because she asked his breeding. There was not much she could have done about the placing, considering, but I did hear people commenting on him and complimenting the way I rode it, so that was nice.
