  2. Pretty sure the client never got to see this version of their spot.

And in an ironic twist of fate, y'all will NEVER get to see the 'approved' version that went to air.
    M'wa hah haaaaaa!

(He who laughs last and then laughs WAY too loud, clearly doesn't get the joke)

  3. This spot won a silver ADDY for Music. It's a fun little tune that starts - as always - with an apple loop as a bed on which I build a bunch of lines heading towards a musical climax.

I tried to sell them on a banjo tune. Apparently using banjos to sell camping in the deep south is banned for life.

Like the Navarre beach spot, we only had a day to cover off all the shots, however this shoot was done on 5 locations instead of just one. As a result we were a little undershot.

I typically have a bin full of great shots that don't get used but in this case I used EVERY shot I had. Consequently, I found myself using my least favourite editing convention: literalism.

Unlike the Navarre Beach spot, you will notice that this spot shows you a picture of everything the VO says right as it says it.

Thank goodness the VO didn't talk about Wombats or Spuzzum, British Columbia.

  5. Here is another in the UWF "I Chose" series created with idgroup in Pensacola, FL.

I shot the interview segment as usual with my SONY Z1U (HDV) mounted behind my Letus lens adaptor. While other spots were shot using Pentax lens to get that green glass cast, this spot was all canon+sigma.

I could have used my brand new Canon 5D II to shoot the whole spot, but I wasn't yet confident enough with it to trust shooting much more than the spot's cover footage...footage I could go back and re-shoot should the canon's footage have gone sideways. I needn't have worried.

Since shooting this, my SONY has been completely retired. (cue sad music)
