I made this animation in response to the studio-based research for my MA in Art & Design in Education. I made the shoe model during a collaborative project with Verity-Jane Keefe, CSM (my old art college) & Wellcome Collection. It was based on a shoe amulet from the collection of Edwardian folklorist Edward Lovett which was included in Felicity Powell's art installation 'The Table' at Wellcome Collection's 'Charmed Life' exhibition.
The animation is inspired by the film 'The Phantom Museum' by The Brothers Quay (2003) and precedes the final film for my MA exhibition 'Family Cabinet of Curiosities' (please contact me if you are interested in attending a viewing of this film as it is not online).

This animation was made using work created during a children's art and storytelling workshop run by Abstract Circle and Inkling Stories using the Barbican's Dancing with Duchamp exhibition as inspiration. For future animation workshops and information please visit abstractcircle.co.uk
This stop-frame animation was designed and edited by artist Olivia Bishop for Abstract Circle Ltd. The work was produced by 9 children aged 5 to 9 years old during a workshop at the toyshop "Ottie and the Bea" in London in April 2013. We used the work of early animators Winsor McCay and Max Fleischer as inspiration.
