  2. I have a deep affection for the Redwood forests of Northern California. This is my best attempt to capture the reverence I feel when in the presence of these giants.

  4. The serene upland farm of Llyndy Isaf, on the shores of Llyn Dinas, is unique in Snowdonia, untouched by intensive farming and home to threatened wildlife of international importance. Sitting within the Nant Gwynant pass, offering 600 acres of extraordinary and peaceful haven for people to get close to nature – and enjoy quiet pursuits such as hiking, kayaking and sailing.

Upon the retirement of the current owner, the National Trust, with the generous support of the public, aims to acquire this land. If successful, protecting it from the commercial market, and the impending development that would follow. The tranquil atmosphere could easily be shattered.

This portrait of the area captures that tranquility.

  5. A video I did for not-for-profit LEAF - Local Enhancement and Appreciation of Forests on their Milne Hollow projects.

Milne Hollow is located along the Don Valley, sitting between the edges of Scarborough and North York. Surrounded by a major highway in what is a former industrial site, it is one of the most magnificent examples of how diverse our canopy can be. yourleaf.org/blog/matthew-higginson/2012-02-01/discovering-wild-city
