This sequence of commentary on spirits of ancestors from Archbishop Peter Sarpong, a pioneer in introducing African culture into Christian worship (see vimeo.com/7347271), takes off from footage of ceremonies opening the King of Akuapem's monthly Council Meeting in Akropong, Ghana (see vimeo.com/9228758). (Though an ancient institution, it's the equivalent of an American "town meeting" discussing issues of water supply, etc., and on this occasion, also the problem of "curses" in day-to-day life.)
A portrait of now retired Archbishop Peter Kwesi Sarpong, who was pioneer in introducing African culture into worship in his Diocese of Kumasi in Ghana, West Africa. Sarpong was one of our main on-camera commentators for our full-length documentary just released: AFRICAN CHRISTIANITY RISING--STORIES FROM GHANA. For details, visit our website: jamesault.com.
