Altiplano as well as the Atacama Desert, the Namib Desert or the Kalahari Desert among many other fascinating landscapes in the world, are located at or near the Tropic of Capricorn. However, there is no single photo book portraying (only) these beautiful places. Moreover, there is no single photo book with additional time-lapse video footages available on Blu-ray or available to download. I want to close this gap by showing these beautiful landscapes to a worldwide audience with my debut time-lapse short film and photo book project THE TROPIC OF CAPRICORN.
It took me 6 months on and off shooting to finish this portrait of Iceland and I've learned a lot of things along that way. Shooting time-lapse is a labor of love and a study in patience... :-) I hope you'll enjoy watching it as much as I did filming it. Thank you!

This time-lapse video was produced between November 2011 and March 2012 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Locations were Hopfensee, Rothsee, Staffelsee, Starnberger See, Zugspitze, Gornergrat, just to name a few...
I have spent all my spare time in the last five month to shoot this time-lapse video. I was on location before and after work as well as all the weekends to shoot these footages here... I slept at 2900 meters above see level to capture some of Europe’s most famous mountains at sunrise… And yes, it was pretty cold out there... The „2012 European cold wave“ started on 27 January 2012 and has brought snow and freezing temperatures to nearly everywhere in Europe. Low temperatures hit Germany and other European countries, reaching as low as −35 °C (−31 °F). Perfect weather for landscape photography…
Shooting this video was one of the best experiences in my life. Traveling around to capture nature's beauty in my homeland was amazing. I had the chance to film a really cold winter day, and it left me breathless. Please enjoy this video fullscreen. And thanks for wachting (and sharing).

What happens to a dream when it becomes reality? Does it still exist somewhere, in some ethereal place, waiting to come to fruition again? Could a fictional narrative capture the true meaning behind a real, live event with more drama and emotion than a traditional documentary? These were some of the questions that arose when we took on the “City of Lakes” project, an unprecedented attempt to combine a fully scripted narrative with Melissa & Samir's real, live wedding. The live wedding and production would be shot simultaneously on-location in Udaipur, India over nine days. Upon completion, "City of Lakes" would become the first wedding concept film ever to be produced on this scale.
“City of Lakes” is as much a story about what it means to return to one's homeland as it is an exploration of Vedic tradition and the rituals of a Hindu marriage. Melissa & Samir had always dreamed of being married in India. We hope this film helps them cherish that dream in ways beyond traditional videography. We're thankful for the acting talents and professionalism of Anubhab Saha, Sharon Chawda and Rushad Rana, and the amazing support of sponsors Canon USA, Tiffen-Steadicam, and Cinevate. There is a final question we hope you’ll find difficult to answer as you watch this film: "what is real?"
