Just a quick test.
Added more noise to the velocities to give a greater sense of scale, also much higher res.
I needed a lighter weigh solution for the splash area, so I used a ripple solver to fake the interaction, it's not perfect but it's very efficient, and gets the job done as long as it's not a hero element.
Same one as before but meshing was much lower res than ideal. I need to get a bit more ram.
Testing out temperature driven viscosity and splash tanks at the bottom. Looks great, but I could not mesh it very well on my home machine. I'll post that up as well.
