Residents of Barangay (village) Corazon de Jesus, San Juan city foiled another wave of clearing operations in their community on June 3, 2011.
The residents were alarmed with some 300 members of the demolition team surrounding their community as early as 6:00 a.m. A few hours later, the demolition team walked closer to the houses but were quickly blocked by the residents
“Today's sudden influx of demolition teams and policemen is a desperate act from the local government," Sandigang Maralitang Nagkakaisa sa Corazon de Jesus (SAMANA) President Arnold Repique said, "After seeing the sustained vigilance and ever-increasing unity of the people since January, it pushed the Ejercitos to use diversionary tactics to pursue a violent demolition."
