1. hi there,
here is the second episode from our Hang Gliding Heaven series :-).
The shots are from our recent Lanzarote trip in December 2010. Tom, Henry and me cruising along the Risco all the way past mirador and back. About a 100 times till sun set ;-). All shots were taken with GoPro HD cams. I glued mine on my helmet and Tom had it mounted on the basebar and kiel.

thanks to Nici and Illia and Paul and Sarah and all the others for coming along.
    enjoy

  2. Crossing an austrian mountain lake in one meter ground effect, total distance 550 m or 27 seconds!
Nil wind and clear autumn light copied the perfect optical reflection on the set filmed by eight cams. Good for filming but hard to value for the pilot racing just inches above water level with 120 km/h speed.

Conclusion: giving a 'high five' for a pinpoint hit needs some more practise...
Glider model: Litespeed RS 3.5, Moyes Delta Gliders
    Harness: Moyes Matrix Race
    Cams: gopro hero2

Special thanks to cameraman Werner Luidolt, photographer Johannes Mentasti and editor Friedl Swoboda!

  3. PLEASE SUPPORT OUR KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN FOR THE SERIES - http://WWW.DREAMINGAWAKE.TV

The location is about 30 miles south of the town of Big Sur in an area called Pacific Valley. It was shot with a CineFlex V14 HD operated by Tom Miller of blueskyaerials.com from a Robinson R44 helicopter piloted by Chris Gularte of specializedheli.com.

To my knowledge there has been very little, if any, hang gliding shot this way. Certainly none in Big Sur.

This is basically uncut, the only cuts are when Tom looses me out of frame. I consider this kind of a tech demo as much as a teaser. Just trying to show what can be done with the right tools. We have some really incredible footage...

Thanks to the Following people that helped make this shoot happen:
    Tom Miller
    Chris Gularte
    John Heiney
    John Wright
    Dusty Rhodes
    Brad Aldrich
    Craig Adkins

Music is by Thomas Newman from the film "Road to Perdition"
