This time-lapse assembly is part of the Hector Thunderstorm Project being produced in northern Australia. The first exhibition of stills from the project are on exhibition in Melbourne at Arc 1 Gallery from the 24th of May until the 18th of June.
Special thanks to the Tiwi Land Council, Phase One and L&P Digital Photographic for their support of the project.
I shot this timelapse sequence mostly over the last few months in the Central North Island of New Zealand. This in an attempt to capture the essence of the often unpredictable New Zealand weather. The weather around here seems to have a mind of it's own as storm fronts race across the land and of the countless occasions I would watch and then chase the light to try and capture the type of landscapes I was after I would so often be beaten into submission with the best moments slipping by as I frantically set up my gear.
Shot on Canon 5D Mark II, motion control achieved with Dynamic Perception Stage Zero dolly.

When I went to Tirol/Austria for 3 days, i went there for doing timelapse-photographies. The wheather and I were good friends not all the time, but most (laughing).
For it was not enough for a good little film, I added a few timelapse-sequences, shot with an InfraRed-camera ( D90 IR).
These IR-sequences arised near and in Nuremberg and I'm very happy for trying it and proud of the fine results.
