This awareness raising program was a three day training of trainers conducted by the joint
efforts of three organizations, ADWAN (Association of Dalit Women Advancement of Nepal),
their sister organization EDWON (Empower Dalit Women of Nepal), the regional branch of Marie
Stopes International (MSI) – Nepal, and Nidan.Nidan is a Nepali non-profit organization that
mobilizes volunteer doctors to rural villages of Nepal to bring health awareness and services to
these villages. This awareness raising program is Nidan’s first venture into the field of women

The Community Outreach Partnership Center/ Clinic project in Dhanauji VDC, Dhanusha is a joint project of GHETS and Nidan. It is Nidan's biggest undertaking. The COPC is designed to be a center for integrated developmental activities in the VDC that are based on Nidan's philosophies and are aimed at ultimately uplifting the health of the communities that live in the area. The four major areas of work this COPC will be involved in are: women empowerment, clean drinking water/sanitation, education and primary health care services. The COPC's start up logistics and employee salaries are all covered by grants from GHETS.
