This is part 1 of an in-progress video guiding the Processing coder through the mental transformation needed to start using OpenFrameworks to create equivalent work. The video is being created as course material for the live GAFFTA class, and is not intended to be a replacement for the class itself. As OpenFrameworks and related technology are highly perishable, this video is not recommended for use in long-term courseware. For teaching purposes, always have a live, interactive human teacher.
Patch experiment trying to use just a few LFO's synced together at very slow rates to generate a loose arrangement of triggered square wave pulses. These pulses where sent out to a few voices on the delptronics
ldb-1e and the DrumDokta & "Clap" Breakout running through a MakeNoise Phonogene/Echophon delay. FM swells courtesy of the MakeNoise DPO and Intellijel Rubicon, ran through a Strymon TimeLine delay pedal. Haunting drones coming from the Cyclebox II and WMD Gamma Wave Source VCO.
"A way to change everything is to build a completely new HMI. The new HMI will be exhilarating, beautiful, and capable, a complement and compliment to people. Just as surely as we do it will occupy real-world space, because that’s where the action is and because it will need to pay special heed to hands and what they’re up to. It will be characterized, like living things, by dynamism, by motion elegant and allusive and comic. It will make the pixels it inhabits — projected and barnacled, singular and teeming, sessile and itinerant — it will make these brazenly heterogeneous pixels interoperable: at once incidental and indispensable. This new HMI will embody a conviction that design, that fundamental human activity, is its as well. And it will infect everything built atop it with the same sentiment. The resulting world might well be one we like. So let’s see."
