  2. The 10th anniversary final round was held at Kyushu University Ito Campus on December 9th, 2012. The tournament was cosponsored by the Japan Debate Association Kyushu Chapter and Kyushu University Faculty of Languages & Culture. 16 teams competed in preliminary rounds, which led to the final round between a Kobe University team on the affirmative vs. a team from NADE Chugoku Chapter on the negative on the resolution that Japan should adopt a "dooshuu" system (federal system). The negative team won the debate.

  3. This is the final round of the 7th JDA Kyushu Debate Tournament Section B between Seiun Senior High School 2 on the Affirmative and "Barentain demo Hitori" on the Negative. The debate is in Japanese and the resolution calls for the termination of the Japan-US Security Treaty. The debate was held in Kyushu University Hakozaki Campus on December 13th, 2009. The tournament was sponsored by the Japan Debate Association Kyushu Chapter and Kyushu University Faculty of Languages & Cultures.

  4. This is the final round of the 2nd International Bioethics Debate Tournament held at Kyushu University on March 14th, 2009. The resolution was "Resolved: That Euthanasia Should Be Legalized." The affirmative team of Alex Berger (Illinois State University, USA) - Wang Jingyi (X'ian International Studies University, China) defeated the negative team of Cynthia Luo - Aishwarya Nair (Assumption University, Thailand).
    The tournament followed 5-day long policy debate workshop conducted by Dr. Joseph Zompetti of the Illinois State University, with participants from Japan, China, Thailand, the U.S., and Taiwan.
    Both the tournament and the workshop were part of a larger project to develop contents-based foreign language teaching materials about bioethics funded by Kyushu University Interdisciplinary Programs in Education and
    Projects in Research Development (P&P) and Kyushu University Faculty of Languages & Cultures (FLC).

This is a demonstration debate on the resolution that "the Japanese government should prohibit minors from using a cellular phone" at Kyushu University Ito Campus on June 10th, 2009, as part of 2009 Japan-U.S. Exchange Debate sponsored by the Japan Debate Association. The affirmative side was upheld by the US Team (Tony Liao, grad student, Cornell University & Christopher Girouard, graduated from Truman State University). The negative side was supported by the Kyushu University ESS Team (Haruka Araki, 2nd-year, School of Economics & Ayaka Tachibana, 2nd-year student, School of Agriculture).
