This was truly a wedding to remember… Eryn and Matt had their wedding in Brooklyn Bridge Park with the most stunning view of the Manhattan skyline that I have ever seen. This Dumbo wedding perfectly suited their trendy and modern wedding tastes and provided awesome spots for photos! We spent time exploring the old brick buildings that you can only find in neighborhoods as unique as the ones in Dumbo. The reception was held in Dumbo Kitchen. I have been to many, many weddings but I was so impressed with the food and especially service that they provided. Enough so that I’m actually writing about it on my blog! A Dumbo Kitchen wedding was perfect for Eryn and Matt who were looking for a more intimate venue that really had the urban vibe and strayed away from the more traditional style.
Eryn, you are truly beautiful inside and out and I’m so happy I got to experience this with you. Congratulations Matt + Eryn!
This was a wedding that many people dream of. Rob + Rene’s outdoor wedding in Ojai, Ca took place on a private estate surrounded by rolling hills with clear skies. Rene is originally from there and knew she wanted a wedding in Ojai. The outdoor ceremony was held under the shade of this beautiful old oak tree. Rene looked stunning as she walked down the aisle, but our favorite moment of the ceremony was Rob’s face when he first saw her. Priceless!
Rob works in Catering at The Beverly Hills Hotel and knows what a good party looks like, so as gorgeous and perfect as everything was the best part was how FUN the outdoor reception was. After some sunset photos, the speeches, and dances the real party began. Rob, being a karaoke master, really set the mood when he karaoked some pretty hardcore old school rap on the packed dance floor. It was awesome. I’ve never seen a groom take the mic like that and I’ve never seen the guests get down like it was an actual Digital Underground concert. Pure amazingness! It was such a beautiful wedding in many ways and Eric and I are so happy to have been apart of it.
We were so excited to shoot Matt + Alicia’s wedding at the Fallbrook Hacienda. These two have been friends of ours for a few years now and we really wanted to capture their day in way that showed them how much we loved them as a couple. They made our job really easy. Surrounded by great friends and family, Matt + Alicia cruised through the day with style and grace.
Before the ceremony, Alicia and her bridesmaids got ready while relaxing at the hotel and chowing down on some In N Out. Not to be outdone, Matt and the guys exchanged stories and helped themselves to some cold beer and cigars at the Hacienda. Once the guests arrived, the long precessional began. Even though they joked at its length, having that many friends and family involved really showed the love and support these two had going for them.
Now lets get to the party. Fresh Mexican food, emotional speeches, kindergartner break dancing, conga lines, table dances, keg stands, circus elephants. Yep. This reception had it all. Except for the elephants. Sometimes when shooting weddings you find yourself really having to really search out those awesome and candid moments. This was just the opposite. They had us scrambling around trying to do the party justice. Everyone was having a blast and there was never a lull in the action.
The night came to an end when a line of friends and family led Matt + Alicia to their vintage convertible waiting in the hacienda driveway. As the crowd cheered them on, these two drove off into the night and ended their big day on a classic and classy note. Cheers to Matt + Alicia!
