Born in 1921 in the backwoods of notorious Richmond County, GA at the boiling point of the Depression Era, Mae Kate Shannon has seen it all. In a few personal interviews during her last years with her eldest child, John Shannon and grandchildren, she shares her vivid memories of life on the farm. Some happy stories, some sad, Mae Kate's authentic folk expression shaped in Gullah/Geechee vernacular leaves a soothing impression on the ear.
