A multimedia dance performance intended to evoke and make visible rituals of the early temple dancers. In this contemporary context I performed the rituals separately, exaggerated in a way. Painting feet and marking long sheets of paper; watching the audience watching me; engaging in the labour of beauty and transformation from practitioner to performer; bearing the weight of the long, braided hair; and investigating significance of the dancing body’s relationship to the singer / the bells / the percussion / the witnesses.
