The "Alsace timelapse" project is the fruit of the collaboration of three French artists from Strasbourg, and the fusion of their photographic, editing and musical talents. The collective, baptized IGH, presents a short film entirely produced through the time-lapse photography technique. Combining thousands of photographs captured over a period of two years across the Alsace region by the photographer Jean Isenmann, and edited by Julien Guntz against a musical background by Marco Havnin, this film attempts to encapsulate the magnificence of the Alsace region in all its aspects.

Cityscape Chicago is a personal timelapse piece consisting of over 30,000 still photographs shot on the Canon 5D Mark III incrementally between July and October 2012 around downtown Chicago, Illinois.

The inspiration of this piece was my fascination with the city of Chicago, particularly at night. For me, there has always been a mysterious sort of feeling to Chicago at night, so I decided to explore and capture it.

Special thanks to Kessler Crane for the motion control equipment used in the making of this video.

Also, thank you to Hotel 71 and the Hard Rock Hotel Chicago

This is a channel which aims at gathering cinemas that utilize deep space and focus as their predominant mise-en-scene and cinematographic styles.

According to James E. Cutting, in his article "Perceiving Scenes in Film and in the World" in the book "Moving Image Theory: Ecological Considerations," depth in two dimensional cinema is achieved by nine "depth cues":

1. Occlusion
2. Height in the visual field
3 and 4. Relative size and relative density
5. Aerial perspective
6. Accommodation
7 and 8. Convergence and binocular disparity
9 Motion perspective

It is hardly possible to realize deep space in cinema in unconsciousness and random shootings, particularly with recent large-sized-censor cameras. Subject distances, focal length, depth of field, and cameraman's position are all important factors without any doubt.

Moderators are open to listen to your technical opinions and advices on the theme. You are also encouraged to introduce any potential videos that would be very examples of deep space cinema.
