The second last game of the Bundoora Bulls Colts (U!7) was played in true Melbourne football style - 2 inches of mud. The season had been up and down and they were determined to finish in style, down to 19 players, the boys played with a lot of spirit and courage. They didn't win on this day but in awful conditions, "...they played like warriors".
Thanks to Rob, Colin, Lena and all the folks who took care of them, for what I hope will be a memorable year. And oh, thanks, to whoever washed the jumpers that day.
Best played loud.
The music is form a great 1979 movie called, The Warriors" directed by Walter Hill and based on a book by Sol Yurick. If your interested here's a link to the trailer, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MV4cgs-bPic
The Gympie Show is an annual event that has been around for close to 100 years. It is a large show, with a commercial country feel; and the town takes the day off just to come along.
It runs for 3 days with a large selection of ring events, a hectic Sideshow alley, a magician, stall holders, Poultry, sheep, cows, Wood Chop and a decreasing produce display. It i s a chance for the town to promote itself, local businesses, historical connections and have a bit of fun. This was filmed in May 2011 for Australian Country Shows. http://www.australiancountryshows.com .
Scout Houghton umpires the Under 10s at Bundoora. Awesome work sorting out that tiny testosterone. Keeping the game flowing without tantrums from players or parents. It made me and Scout laugh a lot hope you enjoy.
Shot on a tiny one chip Sony on a windy day by Brett Houghton. The trailer template is a iMovie application. So You just choose the shots and drop them in fiddle with the text and Voila!!! Its a thriller in Bundoora.
A beautiful day at the show. A small friendly country show, With a mix of industry (sheep, cattle, poultry) and hobby exhibits ( dogs and horses) and a small sideshow alley runs over two days. Well run and very friendly.
Posted first on our website http://www.australiancountryshows.com it's a simple little country meditation, an ode to a day of watching others work, listening to the cows, patting the horses and soaking up the sun.
