1. We are making dance films that capture the whiff, shadow, and dream of three endangered sites in the South Memphis neighborhood of Soulsville. Our goal is to memorialize them, share their significance and contribute to their preservation before they are gone or changed forever. In so doing, we hope to uplift the image of the neighborhood, afford it the respect it deserves, so that we can all celebrate its unique and remarkable contributions to our music heritage.

A film By Eric Brice Swartz and Sarah Christine Bolton exploring the arts and culture of Berlin through the eyes of the artists who live and work there 20 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Twenty-one years ago, the Berlin Wall fell, ending nearly thirty years of division in Germany and setting in motion great cultural change. Long a symbol of communism and oppression to the outside world, the Berlin Wall came to define Germany, like much of the country’s tumultuous history. When it fell, two worlds confronted each other in the space left behind.

The documentary looks into the possible future of Berlin, specifically in regard to the situation of gentrification and the effect it will have on Berlin’s status of creative capital of the world as many artists are pushed from spaces that they were themselves a catalyst for growth in.
