KING OF VEGAS RACE - WRAP UP (via http://trafikpictures.com)
Riders from all over came out for the King of Vegas Race, the biggest street race of Interbike with over $1200 in CASH MONEY!! When Lucas Brunelle rolled thru with his helmet cam, we knew it was going to be a good night.
Nighttime in Vegas is surreal, it’s still hot as day and the neon lights of the strip are like artificial, colored, sunlight. Vegas traffic is thick with un-apologetic taxi cabs and angry locals.”You’re gonna cause an accident!” screamed one old lady with a cigarette hanging from her mouth, as we were casually cruising to the meet-up spot. C’mon lady, give me 3.
Riders began streaming in early to pick up their manifests. NY, SF, LA, Portland, and mad other cities were represented. Who would be the King of Vegas?
Boombotix rolled thru with the speaker system, big thanks fellas! So the party was on as the race was running, the one good thing about Vegas is no open container laws.
It was a 3 checkpoint race covering around 25 miles, at just around 1 hour, the leaders tore down from Las Vegas Blvd, jumped a curb, and presented their manifest. The results are:
KING OF VEGAS: TONY ZALDUA
2nd: Ivan “The Terrible” Delgado
3rd: Bud Abille
