“It started out fairly innocent, invites to parties a plenty...”
The promo video for "Trick Mirror" was shot in one day, in an abandoned cold war bunker in Amsterdam. Directed by David van Woerden, the video features up and coming Dutch actress Lisa Smit as a modern-day Icarus, and a 35+ cast of nightlife creatures and contemporary Blitz kids, cherry-picked by Ravage! Ravage! out of the Dutch nightlife scene. Among them Jordi Ariza Gallego as host of the night and Jimmy Meyvogel as Divine style-a-like Heisa Jynx, in a twisted tribute to the bright and dark sides of the nightlife.
"Trick Mirror" is the lead track from the new same-titled, second EP by Dutch new wave/electro threesome Ravage! Ravage!, which is released via iTunes, Spotify and Bandcamp. Remixes come from Yes...Pink Pink, Sick Boy, Machinegewehr, Roxteady Mark, Ray Grant and Geran.
The song was mixed by Jeroen Joosten (Sumera) and Auke Riemersma (Auxiliary tha Masterfader) and mastered in London by the late Nilesh Patel (who previously mastered albums by a.o. Crystal Castles, New Young Pony Club and The Kills).
2011 sees the very first release of the eccentric Dutch dark synth threesome Ravage! Ravage!
They have selected the sinister "Blisters" as their first single. The song was mixed by Blokgolf and mastered in London by Nilesh Patel (who has previously mastered albums by Crystal Castles, New Young Pony Club, Midnight Juggernauts and The Kills).
The single is supported by a stunning video animated by Maxmana* (http://www.maxmana.com), who has previously done work for Lowlands TV, Postmen, The Routines, DJ Jean, Nobody Beats The Drum and many others, and whose work was featured at this years Venice Biennale.
(* With additional assistance from Michel Wijdemans and Thomas Jeninga.)
The online release is backed up by a brand new song as b-side (the elegant instrumental "Pristine"), the demo version of "Blisters", remixes by new Dutch talents Geran (http://www.soundcloud.com/geran) and Machinegewehr (http://www.soundcloud.com/machinegewehr), and a gloomy take of new song "Substance" by M3tAd3bt (formerly known as Kid Goesting) who makes Ravage! Ravage! sound as a bewitched Fever Ray.
The single was released Monday July 4, via the band's own record label Earlick.
Full quality (320K MP3, FLAC, AAC) downloads of the single (with remixes and b-sides) are available at:
Additionally, the single is available on iTunes, Spotifty and a handful of other download portals.
