Long exposure night photography plays an essential role in our portfolio. Motivated by the success of numerous photographs from Chamonix, but also very positive feedback and clear demand for "how was it made" type of material, we have decided to put together "Let there be light".
We have attempted to create a comprehensive micro-documentary, aimed at enthusiasts of outdoor photography who are taking their initial steps with this fantastic technique.

Cityscape Chicago is a personal timelapse piece consisting of over 30,000 still photographs shot on the Canon 5D Mark III incrementally between July and October 2012 around downtown Chicago, Illinois.
The inspiration of this piece was my fascination with the city of Chicago, particularly at night. For me, there has always been a mysterious sort of feeling to Chicago at night, so I decided to explore and capture it.

Quick Tips: Adding Highlights in the Eyes.
Here is a little video showing a technique that I picked up from Scott Kelby. I think the book was called. Photoshop for the Professional Photographer.
For me, this is the fastest method of getting some extra impact on your images when it comes to shooting portraiture. Bright lovely eye contact is always a winner.
This is my quick take on the concept.

I demonstrated this live during a Creating Star Trails Webinar. Here I am going through all of the steps including some advanced masking techniques.
The total time is about 12 minutes. See if you can spot my several faux pas (there are a few)!
Hint: I seem to be hunting to find the "Duplicate Layer" option. And I did something wrong regarding the watermark... did you spot it?
The AdvancedStackerPlus (advancedstackerplus.com) was released in October, 2013.
A newer version (14E) was released on June 30, 2014. Operation is nearly identical except we removed many of the annoying pop-ups from the Do This First.# vimeo.com/75025925 Uploaded 854 Plays 5 Likes 1 Comment
