OH MY GOODNESS!! What is your heritage? Well, my heritage is Jamaican and American. You know English, but do you know how to say “Jua gwan?” Do you know what it means? It means, “What’s going on?” in Jamaican. My grandparents are Jamaican. So, that’s what makes me a quarter Jamaican. I love their food. It’s AMAZING! I also love their heritage and them. Do you like my heritage? I do
Did you know that people can be four things? Well, I am. I’m happy that I am an American, Puerto Rican, Peruvian, and Portuguese. I get to celebrate all of these heritages. I hope you celebrate your heritage too. My favorite part of being more than one thing is that I get to try different kinds of food everyday. I’m happy this is who I am. This is the Peruvian flag. It is a part of my heritage.
Awesome! Do you think your heritage is awesome? Well, I do. I think that my heritage should be celebrated because I am a Dominican American. In the summer, I like to go to the Dominican Republic and play with my friends and go to the beach and have fun. I like the Dominican Republic because it is fun. The food I like is rice and chicken with beans and salad. The dessert I like is ice cream and Jell-O and candy.
Fabulous! Do you think that heritage is important? Well, I do! I love my heritage. It is important to me. Jamaica is where I was born. Jamaica is exciting and amazing! The beaches are fun and fabulous. Jamaica’s national dish is ackee and salt fish. Our motto is: “Out of many, one people.” Jamaica has the best food! For example: jerk pork, jerk chicken, steam fish with bommi and festival are the best. Our fruit are fresh from the trees…like mango, oranges, coconut, apples and lots more! Jamaica is wonderful and has lots of trees. Did you know that Jamaica is a tropical island? I am proud to say that my heritage is fun. Once you go to Jamaica, then you will never want to leave. Jamaica, Jamaica, so beautiful in the sun!
Spendid! Do you think my heritage has to be celebrated? Well, I do! My heritage should be celebrated because I am Dominican & Puerto-Rican. We love to have family get-togethers with delicious foods from both countries. Supporting one another is very important. Family is all we have. So, if God loves us like his children, then we should love him by loving one another. I couldn’t choose between the Dominican and Puerto Rican flags because both are very important to me. My heritage is super!
