Year 12 Wellington High students, Flora Reilly-Davis and Oska Rego, talk at the recent Education Leaders Forum about being a student in today's education system. They provide reflective comments about teaching and learning, the use of technology, and possible scenarios for their future.
The Honourable Steve Maharey, Vice Chancellor of Massey University, opened the International Conference on Thinking, ICOT2013. In his address Maharey outlines the need for education systems that produce people who are creative, innovative and flexible. He points out that the NZ curriculum can enable this to happen, and he challenges educators to think about teaching strategies for the future, and to take action based on that thinking.
