Stefano Odoardi is an Italian filmmaker who lives and works in both Italy and the Netherlands. In 2002 he received his diploma from the Amsterdam Post Graduate Training DasArts (The Amsterdam School for Advanced Research in Theatre and Dance Studies).

Stefano Odoardi is an Italian filmmaker who lives and works in both Italy and the Netherlands. In 2002 he received his diploma from the Amsterdam Post Graduate Training DasArts (The Amsterdam School for Advanced Research in Theatre and Dance Studies). Stefano made several short films that are selected and awarded in many international film festivals and broadcast on television. In 2007 he shot his first feature film titled: "Una Ballata Bianca" (A White Ballad). The scenario development was funded by the Dutch Film Fund. Production in Italy was owned by Blue Door in co- production with the Netherlands: De Productie, Moskito Film, O Film and Image Grabbing. The film had its world premiere in January 2007 in the official selection of the 36th Rotterdam International Film Festival and was screened in different international film festivals. In September 2007, the film was released by the Netherlands Film Museum and in December of that year in Italy by Blue Door and received a favourable press. The film received the best film award in the TiburonInternational Film festival 2007 (San Francisco, USA) and the special jury award in the Gallio Film Festival 2008 (Gallio, Italy). In 2010 he directed "Tunnel Vision" a film of 50 minutes, commissioned by the VPRO selected in the "One Night Stand competition”. The premiere took place at the Dutch Film Festival, where he entered in the competition. In December 2010 the film won the prize for best director at the festival of Sulmona in Italy. Tunnel Vision was in the official selection at the 2011 South by Southwest (SXSW) film festival in Austin, Texas and other festivals. In Febraury 2012 the film won the best film award at the festival Visioni Italiane of Bologna in Italy. The film was written by Sytske Kok and produced by Lemming Film. Stefano recently finished his 57 minutes film "Mancanza". The film received the "Work in Progress Award" at the Jenjou International Film Festival 2009 (South Korea). The film premiered in July 2011 in the New Horizons Film Festival (Wroclaw, Poland). Currently he is developing two feature film projects “The Pilgrimage” written by Sytske Kok and produced by De Productie (Holland) in co-production with Blue Door (Italy) and “Hello Everybody” also written by Sytske Kok, based on the book “Hello Everybody” by Joris Luyendijk and produced by Talent United (Holland). Stefano has been one of the 8 international directors selected for the Binger Directors Lab 2012 with the film “Hello Everybody”.
