  2. Aurora Martin is a junior at Virginia Tech majoring in vocal performance and chemistry, was a featured speaker at the groundbreaking ceremony for Virginia Techs' Center for the Arts.

    Ms. Martin talks about what the new center means to her and how she feels it will benefit the university. She also talks about how she believes the center will encourage alumni to return to campus.

  4. On Thursday, April 29, 2010, noted English professors Virginia Fowler and Nikki Giovanni were recognized for their generous contribution to The Campaign for Virginia Tech: Invent the Future.

    Fowler and Giovanni announced that they were establishing a fund named “The Answer is Yes: Fowler-Giovanni English Department Program Endowment.”

  5. Virginia Tech graduate ('01), alumni of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets, and U.S. Marine Corps Capt. David Seth Mitchell, was killed in October 2009 while supporting combat operations in Afghanistan.

    On April 9, 2010, his name was added to the Virginia Tech Ut Prosim Pylon at the War Memorial, which honors Virginia Tech alumni who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect this country.
