Third year Drama Production assignment. We were given a neutral dialogue sequence and charged with interpreting and translating it into a short scene or film. The subplot I developed involved a history between the characters in which the library worker is a sort of boogie man from the boy's childhood. The experience of seeing him again causes Mike (the lower down of the two) to remember more from his childhood than he would like, and so the librarian serves as a portal to a sinister and mirky past. The audience is left to wonder at the veracity of the two young men's accounts, and to think about the possibility of such an unassuming elderly character having such a horrific past.
Shot with a Panasonic 502 and edited using Final Cut Pro.
