    Work Sample description: New music commissions performed by the Young People's Chorus of New York City with interviews, rehearsals and performances, with Artistic Director/Founder Francisco Núñez, and composers Michael Gordon (“Exalted”), and Michael Harrison (“Hijaz”).
    -A. “Exalted” by Michael Gordon (2010); written by the composer soon after the death of his father, its title is taken from the English translation of the first word of the Mourner’s Kaddish, one of the most important and central prayers in the Jewish liturgy written 2500 years ago in Aramaic, the dominant language at that time. Presented as part of the Transient Glory Symposium in association with Carnegie Hall Choral Music Institute in February 2012; recording of rehearsals and performance with JACK Quartet at (Le) Poisson Rouge, NYC.
    -B. “Hijaz” by Michael Harrison (2010); text and music by Michael Harrison; with Maya Beiser-cellist, Payton MacDonald-percussionist and Michael Harrison-just intonation piano; performed live by YPC Concert Chorus at the 92nd Street Y at the “Transient Glory X” 10th Anniversary Concert, NYC May 6, 2011; public radio broadcast distribution in 2011-12; NYC public radio broadcast on WNYC’s Soundcheck (June 2011).
